Michelle
Michelle is the main teacher in our learning center. She grew up in Taiwan and graduated from National ChengChi University in Taipei, Taiwan, ROC. She worked as a high school teacher and taught Computer Science and Business for 5 years in Taiwan.
In 1999, Michelle attended a university in southern California to study Computer Science and received her Masters degree in 2001. After marriage, she homeschooled her own children for 13 years. As a homeschool mom, she understands the struggles children have with math and foreign languages, so she founded Learning Horizon to share her specialty in math and Chinese.
Michelle was certified by the State of Washington as a certified Chinese teacher and English Language Learner (ELL) teacher.

Nelson is our Math and Computer Programming tutor. He tutors pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and AP Computer Science.
Nelson graduated from the Allan School of Computer Science & Engineering and Math Department (double majors) from the University of Washington in 2024. He is currently doing a Master in Teaching program.
Nelson specializes in competitive math. He received recognition from math competitions such as

- Washington State Math Competition
Nelson also received many medals from coding competitions such as

Grace
Grace is an amazing piano player and songwriter. She has studied piano for 14 years and started taking students 4 years ago.
Congratulations to Grace! Grace received a silver medal in the 2021 Bach Festival, a bronze medal in the 2022 Classical Viennese Festival and another bronze medal in the 2022 2022 Virtuoso Artists Festival through the Seattle International Piano Festival and Competition.
Grace is currently studying music at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She teaches in-person lessons in our center in summer and virtual lessons during the school years.
