2018-19 Quarter 1 Class Description

**Annual registration fee: there is a non-refundable registration fee of $35/child per school year.

**There is a 5% discount for the 2nd child from the same family enrolled.


MUS-blocks

Singapore Math (Monday @4:30pm)

2018-2019 school year

Quarter 1: September 10 to December 10 (13 classes; No class on 11/12 due to Veterans Day.

  • For ages 5-11
  • Class time: 4:30pm to 5:30pm on Mondays. (60 minutes)
  • Quarter 1 tuition: $234 (13 classes)
  • This class is integrated with Math-U-See manipulatives; We also use different kinds of manipulatives to teach subjects such as money, time, measurement, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percents …etc.
  • Good for kids with any kind of learning styles.
  • Parents are responsible for purchasing books before the class starts.
  • Small group (up to 6 kids);  Classes are delivered in English.

Learn Chinese (Mandarin) with us!    跟我们一起学中文!

Learn Pinyin and Simplified Chinese in our fun and creative Chinese classes! We sing songs, we dance, we talk in Mandarin, we read, we write, and we are crazy!

 

Chinese Fun! (C) 

2018-2019 school year

Quarter 1: September 12 to December 12 (14 classes)

  • For ages 6-8
  • Class time: 3:50pm to 4:50pm (60 minutes) on Wednesdays.
  • Quarter 1 tuition: $252 (14 classes)
  • Material Fee: $25 (once a year)
  • CD-ROM:  $30 (New students only.)
  • This class is designed for kindergartners and early elementary school students who have learned Chinese for at least 1 year. This class will introduce students to the Chinese language and its culture.
  • This class is designed to engage students through fun games, activities, and songs. Students learn Chinese through games, singing and movement.
  • Students will learn to sing some Chinese children’s songs weekly, learn to recognize and write Chinese characters, and communicate in simple conversations in Mandarin.
  • We teach Hanyu pinyin (Chinese phonetic system) and Simplified Chinese that is used in mainland China.
  • Parents are responsible to purchase books before the class starts.
  • Classes are delivered bilingually (in Chinese Mandarin & English).
  • Class size: up to 8

  • This class is designed for early elementary school students who have learned Chinese for at least 3 years. This class will introduce students to the Chinese language and its culture.
  • This class is designed to engage students through fun games, activities, and songs. Students learn Chinese through games, singing and movement.
  • Students will learn to sing some Chinese children’s songs weekly, learn to recognize and write Chinese characters, and communicate in simple conversations in Mandarin.

  • Quarter 1 tuition: $234 (13 classes)

  • This class is designed for elementary school students who have at least learned Chinese for 4 years and can read and write at least 400 Chinese characters. This class will introduce students to the Chinese language and its culture.
  • This class is designed to engage students through fun games, activities, and songs. Students learn Chinese through games, singing and movement.
  • Students will learn to sing some Chinese children’s songs weekly, learn to recognize and write Chinese characters, and communicate in simple conversations in Mandarin.
  • We teach Hanyu pinyin (Chinese phonetic system) and Simplified Chinese that is used in mainland China.
  • Parents are responsible to purchase books before the class starts.
  • Classes are delivered bilingually (in Chinese Mandarin & English).

Advanced Chinese 

2018-2019 school year

Quarter 1: September 7* to December 14 (13 classes; No class on 10/19 due to LEAP day. No class on 11/23 due to Thanksgiving Holiday.)  *Please note: This class starts one week earlier.  

  • For ages 11-14
  • Class time: 4:30pm to 6:30pm (120 minutes) on Friday.
  • Quarter 1 tuition: $468  (13 classes)
  • Book fee: $75 (including 1 textbook, 1 workbook, and 1 interactive CD-ROM; For new students only.)
  • Material Fee: $25 (once a year)
  • This class is designed for elementary school students who has already had at least 6 years of Chinese learning experience and can read and write at least 1000 Chinese characters. This class will introduce students to the Chinese language and its culture.
  • This class is designed to engage students through fun games, activities, and songs. Students learn Chinese through games, singing and movement.
  • Students will learn to sing some Chinese children’s songs, learn to read and write Chinese characters, and communicate in conversations in Mandarin.
  • We teach Hanyu pinyin (Chinese phonetic system) and Simplified Chinese that is used in mainland China.
  • Parents are responsible to purchase books before the class starts.
  • Classes are delivered bilingually (in Chinese Mandarin & English).
  • Class size: up to 8
